Default Hood Louvers

Ok, maybe this has been discussed many times before, but I am on my cell and don't have the patience to search, but I was just reading the latest JP mag and towards the end where all the ads are I saw a company selling (greatly overpriced, imo) hood louvers. They advertise a 47° UNDERHOOD temp drop. So my question is, is it true? I know some of you guys came up with your own ideas for vents, so did you notice an improvement in temps? My Jeep is my DD, and ocassionally get to go trail riding. Its pretty clean so before I go hacking up more sheet metal, I just want to be sure its an improvement ya know?

Mine have definitely helped. I rarely go above 200 even while on the trails

You must be talking about the RunCool Vents. I think they are over priced but I'm ordering some soon cause they just look alot cleaner then going to Lowe's and getting floor vents. I don't want to hack up my XJ since it's a DD and rather spend the extra money on a nice clean fit.

Which size did you get? I was looking at the medium but was wondering if the large would fit.

Screw paying $100 plus dollars for hood vents. Check out my solution:

I just got the mediums. They are plenty large enough. Not sure how other brands work, but with the Jeep at idle, it blows hot air out hard enough to be a heater.
