#2) Depends on the product being used. Cheap rattlecan beadliner wont hold a candlestick to monstaliner, line-x, etc. Me personally, i bought a gallon of chassis saver, some premium brushes, apply a few coats, then ill hit em with gloss black rustoleum so i dont get too much UV fading & they stay nice & shinny.

#3) Also depends on how much u bump & bash ur bumpers so the question will vary from user to user. You can always get em powdercoated which im now thinking of doing depending on cost!!
Thanks!

This thread is making me impatient for my set lol.
Im finally gettin ready to mount mine on my 98 & this cant possibly be correct??? My gear box bolts alone are like 6" long!!! Ofcourse im running a PSC gear box but somehow i imagined that ALL the bolts would go thru the rails & ud use nuts & washers on the other end??? Even on the drivers side, theres only those 3 bolts for the gear box & the other holes dont exist & have to be drilled. So how in the world are u using 6 2inch bolts threaded into what???

Senior-

I just installed mine this weekend, stock gear box bolts are 7/16"-14-4", and the Other ones (that's the size set I was given) were actually kinda long, I'd do 1-1/2inch long and like 5or 5-5 1/2 long instead of 2 and 6....or grab a load of washers.

The first few bolt mounts on each side that were part of the stock bumper are pretty shallow, that's where the small ones are used, I was actually surprised at how little material there is there...You'll see what I'm talking about once you pull the bumper.

Edit: and they thread into new nuts I bought with the bolts, stock uses those metal "clip nut" things.

Just found the thread. Congratulations are in order for the new family addition. Enjoy them while they are young as they grow so quick.

Really like the bumpers. Nice work. Have you ever considered giving them the look of an F-117 Nighthawk? Sure its old school, but still really cool.
