I wanted to buy this bumper I really like it.
BUT everywhere I called said it was on "back order" even though they have it "for sale" the truth is it doesnt even exist. I called smitty bilt and they said it wasnt going into production till some time in the fall

Last time I checked (early October), 4 Wheel Parts told me there were about 50 on backorder, mine made 51. Not sure if that includes all retailers or just 4 Wheel Parts. Smittybilt told me that they don't expect production until late January (tentatively) meaning probably February. If you drop in your $400 now, be prepared to wait. Same on the tire swing.

I called Smittybilt last week. They said it would be spring at best, but likely late summer before they are out.

I just asked at 4wheelparts today, they claim they are going to be getting them in starting in May.

I herd Smittybilt just came out with the rear XRC bumper for the XJ. I am really curious if it only uses the 8 stock mounting holes or do it use the nut strips that a hitch uses. If anyone had one pic appreciative thanks.

The question was raised earlier in this thread asking how and where this bumper is mounted anyone know? I am also interested what the install will be like.

yeah i knew about this bumper before it was publicly released. I figured once it was announced it would only take about 2 months for them to start shipping but that definitely has not been the case. I wouldn't even waste time pre-ordering. either way you're going to be waiting a while to get it. Pricing is a lot better than most other winch bumpers though. but you probably would have the money saved up to buy an available winch bumper before that smitty is finally available.
