yeah i knew about this bumper before it was publicly released. I figured once it was announced it would only take about 2 months for them to start shipping but that definitely has not been the case. I wouldn't even waste time pre-ordering. either way you're going to be waiting a while to get it. Pricing is a lot better than most other winch bumpers though. but you probably would have the money saved up to buy an available winch bumper before that smitty is finally available.

I went to 4wheel parts in westminster and saw one installed on an employees cherokee. This probably would have been my bumper had I not cancelled my order. It looks pretty good but is not nearly as slim as it looks in the pics. Also it's 140lbs so it's gonna bring down your front end a little. Otherwise the finish is good, like a textured black kinda like rhino-liner...

Well one of my warehouses finally had ONE in stock (across 4 warehouses throughout the country) and i ordered it. Should be here within the week. I'll have pics posted after the install. Yes, it's heavy as hell and way bigger than the pics Smittybilt has on their website!

Anyone have the XRC rear bumper for the Jeep Cherokee made by Smittybilt? Still really curious on how you mount this bumper up, mostly if it uses the towing rails or not? I know there for sale but still can't find any information on them, I called Smittybilt and nobody knows? Looking for reverse shot or even better installed shots of the bumper.

I would imagine it uses 8 stock mountain holes and also mounts into the unibody frame rail with a nutstrip. It has a hitch so one would hope it would tie into the rails at least...

I really hope so that is what I want. If it only uses the 8 stock mounting bolts I would not trust the tow point at at.

I was talking with the smittybilt/procomp guys in hope of trying to get a release date for the rear bumper w/ tire carrier but even they couldn't give me an exact time. They said they're finishing some testing on the carrier. The one without the tire carrier is available though. It's another heavy piece though!
For anyone wondering what the bumper looks like with the light hoop and a winch installed, here you go
