Default 1988 Cherokee Laredo, stock (mostly) for sale

I am moving to Hawaii this month and have found that I can't really afford to take my beloved Jeep with me! I'm really sad about that, because I had planned this year to be the build year on it, but it came down to building up my ride, or taking the transfer to Hawaii, and you can guess what won out!
I'd like to sell my Jeep to someone looking to build it up, not part it out, someone here who's after a trail rig or not too fussed about all the stupid cosmetic stuff that builds up over time on these rides. THIS IS NOT A MALL CRUISER, SO DON'T BUY IT FOR YOUR BABYGIRL IN HIGHSCHOOL UNLESS SHE RIDES TRAILS WITH YOU!

I bought this guy last year, with full intention to turn it into a daily driver, part time trail rig. I have fixed all the mechanical issues with it that needed immediate attention. 1 year old alternator, s-belt, pulley and battery. Replaced the starter in October, lifetime warranty through O'reilly's, I'm pretty sure I still have the receipt for it. The only oil issue is the standard blowback (very minimal) and the seal around the cap to pour it in is original, so it leaks a tiny amount...but it doesn't leak from anywhere else, which is amazing! It will pass safety and emissions to the best of my knowledge. I had to put TJ flares on it as I got a set of those cheaper than the originals; PO had chopped the fenders. All new Wrangler ATs on rear axle, maybe 3k miles on them if that. Great part is this bad boy won't overheat! Seriously! I've had it out in 110 degree heat, running all day, never even topped 190 on the engine temp gauge, with no other mods to the engine or bay! It's not a big fan of super cold weather (once it drops below 10 during the day, everything gets a little stiff, but still works like a champ). Heater still works, but like all XJ's the AC is out, and is more to replace with the newer legal ones than the car is worth. This is the Auto, 4wd transmission, I6 4.0L engine. Has swivel bucket seats installed by PO, super comfy, but still upholstered to match. Still have a full size spare, but has a small hole in it, the mark I made washed off before I got it home, so haven't had it patched yet, I'll throw it in for free if you want it. Also comes with a ball hitch, and all the car tools, equipment and basic roadside hazard stuff I've accumulated for it (jumper cables, HEET de icer, basic crescent wrenches, set of sockets and other basic tools, ice scraper, sponge, squeege, car wash soap, bucket, and a bunch of other misc fluids and odds and ends) if you want them.
I also installed some 55w superbright aimable secondary driving lights which cost me $120. Wiring is not to the battery but through the fuse panel, so you can only switch them on when in High beams (that's the law here in Utah).
There's a great sound system in it, Pioneer CD deck with blue removable display, MP3 and USB inputs, remote control, aftermarket speakers, no subwoofer.
All up, I've invested probably $500 over what I paid in this so far. That's why I'm still asking $1000 for it. It'll be a reliable daily driver for ya and a great builder.

Now for the cons.
Has dents all along both sides, and side rails.
Front bumper is badly dented, no end caps.
Hatch cylinders are losing pressure, sometimes they stay up, sometimes they sag.
Rear hatch plastic cover is coming loose (was like that when I bought it; I had planned on just replacing the whole hatch. If you want I can give you the number of a guy who's got one for only $40 here locally if you're fussed about it).
Hinge on rear driver's door needs re-welding as the weld is cracked
Front tires will need replacing this year, but are good enough for now.

That's pretty much it as far as cons go, and now here's the list of stuff that was planned to do to it in order of mechanical need (keep in mind, none of the following things are critical, just recommended if you want this guy to keep on truckin for another 5-10 years)

1. Full suspension lift (3.5 inch was my recommended one)
2. Replace steering column (easy to do, and less than $50 from the JY)
3. Replace fuel Injectors with 4-pins from a Neon or Mustang (again, easy upgrade, less than $30 from JY)
4. new headlights (crystal blues or even the HID mod, cuz the stock ones are kinda dim for my taste)

Keep in mind the above mods were just on my list and ARE NOT CRITICAL TO THE PERFORMANCE OR RELIABILITY OF THIS JEEP.

If you want to come have a look please email me at z_reiser@hotmail.com, and I'll reply that same day at least, if not sooner.
