1994 Jeep Cherokee 2-door 4wd For Sale
After a re-evaluation of what my priorities are (and my budget), I've decided to cancel my 4wd conversion project on the '93 Cherokee.
So I'm now selling the '94 2-door Cherokee that I'd bought as a donor vehicle. I'll be honest, it's in rough shape. I've seen worse, but I've seen a lot better too. The vehicle spent most of it's life, supposedly, down by the beach. Which means it's got rust in a lot of weird places, like the roof (???) as well as in the normal places such as the floor and rockers. It also appears to have been in a light fender-bender (quite literally, the front driver's side fender is bent), but the main structural members seem to be OK. Since there are holes in the roof, the interior is pretty cruddy as well. The door panels are cruddy, and the headliner is coming down. Seats aren't bad, although they could use a little cleaning.
Now, in the pictures the nose panel and hood are removed. I STILL HAVE THESE ITEMS! They just aren't installed, I was originally going to pull the motor and such to put into my '94 but never did.
I was a little worried about the 4wd system, since it seemed to be binding when engaged, and you could hear at least one wheel dragging a little on every rotation. After looking into it further, the linkage needs adjustment, and it appears that not all the tires are wear matched, not to mention some of them are low. Once I got her out into dirt, the 4wd worked fine with no issues! So it's just the standard 'don't engage on pavement' thing for the part-time system, apparently.
The exhaust system appears to be 'new' compared to the rest of the vehicle, not sure when it was done. The guy I got it from said he'd had it done in the last year or so, no sure if I buy that. It's pretty throaty sounding, I actually like it. Wish my '93 sounded that good.
Leaks. It's got them, but they aren't bad. There appears to be an engine oil leak from the rear of the engine, I haven't tried to track it down, could just be a valve cover. In the 8 months the Jeep sat in my garage, it leaked maybe half a cup of oil and a quarter cup of coolant. Not bad for a 1994, IMO.

In short, this is a good donor vehicle for parts or a full 4wd conversion. Or, as I considered doing, chop the top and make a Rat Jeep. The motor runs strong and is fairly quiet, at least compared to my '93. It has quite a bit more power than my '93, although it is in dire need of a tuneup and the throttle body needs a good cleaning. Due to the brake issue and the front end issues, not to mention the fact it's not street legal with the nose panel and hood off, you'll need to trailer it out of here.
I need this thing out of my garage. I am not interested in parting it out, even though I could get more money for it that way.
Asking $650, but will take offers.

Ignore the oil stains in the driveway, those are from the '93's power-steering pump. I had to move it over to back the '94 out of the garage.

The Good:
- 120888 original miles
- 6-Cylinder 4.0L HO Motor runs good, needs a tuneup.
- Transmission shifts fine through all gears.
- 4wd Transfer Case appears OK
- Chrysler 8.25" rear end
- Rear Speaker Bar
- Includes a pine-tree air freshner
- Power steering works
- AC Compressor is good.
- Newer 'performance sounding' exhaust
- Has a Hitch Receiver already installed.
- Clean Title
The Bad:
- Rust holes in roof (one is quite big)
- Rusty rockers
- Floor pans are rusted out in spots
- Lightly bent driver's fender
- No front bumper
- Door hinges are broken (droopy)
- Tires are pretty much toast
- Brakes are shot, possibly bad master cylinder.
- Front end 'wanders'
- AC compressor was 'drained', no coolant in system.
- Can't get the bloody key out of the ignition!
The Ugly:
- It's pretty ugly.
- Covered in stickers
- Interior is pretty rough

ive got an entire front clip for this free if someone buys it... hood, grill, and fenders... even stock NEW tires and oem wheels for cheap (not free)... try to help ya out man...

I've actually still got the hood and grill with all the lights, although it does need a new driver's side fender (bit bent). I just can't find the screws that held it all together.
