Got the new oem 02 sensors in. Changed them and it still isn't fixed. Took it for a test drive and it ran great... sputtered once in the driveway... took it back out and it almost stalled on me twice. (I kept it running by applying gas pedal..) Then i had it in the drive way when i got back, took the rps to 2000 for about 2-3 minutes. Bogged and died.
I don't know where to go from here. No check engine lights. Only thing I can think to do is change CPS to a brand new OEM unit...
Any other ideas guys....?
should I drop the fuel tank and check the filter/pump out? What would I look for on the fuel pump when I get it out?
Did I heat wrap the injectors ok? They are FULLY wrapped down to the head and all teh way to the rail and the entire rail is fully wrapped too...

I'm placing my money on the fuel pump, or something fuel pump related. If you're going to drop the tank you might as well replace the pump. Do not waste your money on an Airtex pump, spend a few extra bucks for a quality brand like Bosch.

Precisely why I dont want to spend anymore until I nail down the problem.
Anyone heard of the cam position sensor toothpick fix method? Im willing to try anything at this point...

I just got done replacing my crank sensor and that fixed my problem. Originally it thru the code are the Cam sensor. Replaced and same issue. After a little research, the code is for either the Cam or crank sensor. So I'd try the crank sensor. Worked for me.

I took apart the cam position sensor today and there is oil inside it... is this normal? I read about a toothpic alignment technique for these things... Anyone ever done/heard of this?

Sorry the O2 sensors didn't fix ya. That sucks. If you want to try something cheap, try cleaning your idle air sensor. All your out is the cost of a can of carb/choke cleaner and about 20min of your time.

Ya gotta rule out the easy stuff first... Like fuel flow...
Have you changed the fuel filter??
Even a mostly clogged filter will let enough gas through at idle to make 48# at the rail. It's when you hit the highway and have increased fuel flow that the pressure may drop and cause stalling.
BTW, the filter is not in the tank, it's in the fuel line ahead of the rear axle. Easy & cheap to change. Try that.
Something else, too (in case the filter doesn't help).
I mentioned in my first reply that I had similar issues with my 96 that was solved with new OEM O2 sensors.
Bosch is not OEM. I think your bought Bosch.
NGK is OEM. There is a difference. Maybe enough to trouble your ECM...
The Bosch sensors in my 96 were less than 6mos old when the engine started acting up. The NGK's that replaced them immediately cured the sputtering problem and it has run fine for the past year.
Your car may not be liking le Bosch.

The fuel filter on a 2000 cherokee is in the tank.

Continuing on with the 02 sensor idea...
As I stated earlier the wires coming from the clip on the engine/computer side (not sensor side) of the upstream(front) 02 sensor are bare, and possibly rubbing. The wire insulation has either melted / desintegrated and there is about 1/4 inch of bare wire on 3 of the 4 wires DIRECTLY out of the clip.
How would I remedy this? Can you hardwire the 02 sensors? Are the clips able to be taken apart and new connectors put on like some harness connectors? I have a few places like this where the wires coming from clips are bare and possibly rubbing. The CPS (already fixed and soldered) the cam pos. sensor and the upstream(front) 02 sensor.
