01 cherokee engine tap hot and cold.
I have a horrible tapping sound that I can't figure out. You can hear it at idle, and it gets louder with gas. When driving its loudest right before it shifts gears. When doing any speed, if I let off the gas it instantly goes back to how it sounds at idle.
I've tried to pinpoint the sound but it just sounds like middle of the engine to me. Loudest when standing directly in front of the grill. I do have a video ill upload shortly. Any tips towards figuring this out would be great.
And no it doesn't change with being warmed up.
