depends on what you want to do. Big tires, there goes your $1000 right there. locker n lift $1000. basic maintance and oem replacement or up grade $600. pick n choosee what you want

From his intro thread it looks like he has a lift, bumpers, lights, CB radio and 31" tires
I would invest in a hitch winch plate and winch and put a hitch receiver port in the front bumper. Then run all the wiring for a front and rear winch.
OR.....
Some 33" tires.
hey ryan from ri, hello everybody this xj happens to be my third jeep after a 95 zj and a 97 tj i think ill always drive a jeep 4.0s are bulletproof but here is the newest...here are the specs 4.5 in rustys lift new 31 gen grabber tires custom smittybuilt front and rear bumpers things a beast..tell me what you think!

If you wheel it I would start thinking about 33's/gears/lockers. i know its more then 1K but your not far from it either... (you could make 35's fit TOO!)
If thats to much right now I would do sliders (if you wheel in rocks/trees ect) and bracing. frame stiffeners, steering box ect.

thanks everyone i wanna keep it somewhat road worthy and efficient so i dont wanna go any bigger on tires and mine only have 120 miles on them or so, i was thinking some nice fendor flares and a winch make it look mean.
