Well today I picked up these @ Napa. Some Lucas fuel stabilizer and a new fuel filter. Its already dark out so I will probably change out my filter tomorrow. As far as my mileage goes, I went about 95 miles on 1/4 tank of gas, We will see what I get when I am at 1/2 tank as that should be fairly accurate. I did notice that ever since I changed the oil my XJ runs different. It sounds different, not really sure why. I put 10w30 in it, hopefully that wasn't a mistake.

Well I couldn't stop thinking about it so I went out in the dark and changed that fuel filter. The old filter had no markings or numbers on it anywhere, it was a goldish color so maybe it was the stock filter? I also added the Lucas fuel additive to my fuel. So needless to say my XJ is getting some much needed maintenance, I am looking forward to seeing what kind of mileage I will be getting with this thing.

So the new 02 sensor is in and there is no light on the dash. I park at the same spot, at the same Shell pump, and go full tilt till is clicks off. Then full tilt two more clicks. Being it is on full tilt, I don't think I'm over-topping. After a couple 3/4 thank fills, I get a reasonably fair figure.
I write it all down..add 5% more miles for the 235"s. (Pretty sure that is very close). (no idea if someone has been there though. It should take you 60 seconds to go a mile at just under 58 on your speedo)

Filled up today, well not quite all the way, it was 10 some gallons which barely put me at a full tank (in Oregon they have employes that fill your tank, they rarely will get it totally full ), last time it was 14 from the same point on the fuel gauge. Anyways, I am now averaging 17 mpg, my driving consists of both freeway driving and back roads to work. Occasionally I drive to town but not too often. I'm happy with where my mpg's are now, at least it's not 10 mpg.

Cool!. Keep writing it down. YES!! that ..get's me, sometimes I fill up in Brookings Ore.....good luck trying to tell them how YOU do it! Keep at it, (writing it down), sounds pretty good. Now my milage log has things like, "adjusted Kickdown cable", "changed 02", "got a third round wheel" ect...
I might have seen 18ish and 22hwy+ before my old thing got wore out. Now that I know how it works I hope to get it back to the same. (worn out).
