Ha! I'll be darned. I can see that, that's some pretty severe service. I wonder, you or I, if the pressure ever let's up what would happen to us!

Any swelling or change in hardness? When we test o-rings, we measure the dimensions and hardness before the chemical compatability test. Then we soak them in their intended fluid mixed with the chemical in question. Next we bake the samples and fluid at elevated temps over time. Re-measure dimensions and hardness after the test and you find out what the chemical will do over time. Swelling and softening over short time will lead to disintegration over longer times.

No, like a mentioned they seem unfazed. Only a month, and only room temperature. Besides that they feel the same the main "test" was to see if they would leave a mark on white paper, which they didn't. As it happens I dumped all four into one and set it out of the way. I left it on some gravel with the lid loose..no particular reason, just want to be rid if it and didn't have a burn pile going. It didn't react or fiz or anything, didn't "spontaneously combust!" Anyway that was 6 or 8 weeks ago and I just now poked them around a bit...no change.

""""Anytime I sell injectors to someone and they are concerned about one flowing at + or - 10% of factory injectors I tell them not to worry since all that gets adjusted anyway by so many things on modern vehicles. """"" - programbo -- post #171

NOT TRUE!

When an injectors flows less than the others, that cylinder is running lean. Lean gives less efficiency, less power, less mileage.

The PCM "averages" all cylinders together to control the open time, but that particular cylinder doesn't get as much at the others.

The PCM "sees" the average is lean, so it richens ALL of them. Now that lo one is not as lean but the other 5 are too rich!

If it flows too much it's the opposite - too rich on that cylinder - also inefficient. The "average" makes the PCM make them all too lean.

Now picture one 10% rich and one 10% low - 2 cylinders not performing like they should, but the "average" is normal.

That's why matching them as close as possible is important.

It's important to deal with a professional that actually knows how it works.

What you're saying makes sense if you only replaced a single injector, but Programbo sells sets of 6 for entire replacements, so the ECU will adjust all of them based on sensor readings. He is referring to an entire SET of replacements matching an entire SET of factory units. Clearly if you are running a mismatched you will have issues.
