i don't want to continue to clutter up your for sale thread so i'll clutter this one up instead.

there has been mention of clearance problems using the adapters. from what i figure it looks like there is no way to clear the throttle cable bracket with one pice adapters. i thought that i had found a pretty decent way to get around this... order the $25 dollar one piece adapters from ebay and order one silgnle adapter from summitracing like this: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/CEI-109078/?rtype=10

problem is they have switched to the one piece as well. i just got them all in the mail and they were all the same. after some time on the phone with Summit (they are great they called casper to confirm that the picture didn't match what they sell) we have figured out that casper doesn't sell a adapter with wires in the middle.

now i think what i am going to do is just turn the number 3 injector to the side and not install the clip. i see no reason why this shouldn't work as long as the fuel rail is bolted down. i'll give it a shot as soon as i have some free time.

Hi Alex, Thank you for the feedback. Please check to see if your rail has an anti-rotation tab on it. These injectors do not, and depending on what style of clip you have, you may still be able to clip them. The concern about not running clips is the fuel pressure in the rail is pushing the injectors away from the rail and towards the intake manifold. It may be possible (probable with a loose fuel rail) for the O-ring to unseat from the injector cup on the rail. That is one of the last things that you want to have happen to your engine.

Let us know how the instalation and results are from your injector install. I am interested to see if you have better results with the 021s than you did with the 703s.

Thank you again and always be safe, David

I don't think the fuel trail has a anti rotation tab, I have rotated the 703's to get beyer clearance.

The fuel injector pushes pretty far into the fuel real once under fuel rail iras tight. What I will have to be careful about is if I ever have to remove the fuel rail again is to make sure that I relieve the pressure from the rail so it doesn't blow the injector without the clip on it out of the rail when I loosen it up.

If I get all my cars done today at work I'll pull my jeep in after 5 and put the liberty injectors in. if doll else fails I'll solder some ev6 connectors on if I have to.

What the hey? I only get 14-20 around town, but manage anywhere from 20-30 on the highway. On level ground, doing almost 60mph, I consistently pull 32mpg. My overall avg is 19.8mpg, and I've really done nothing with the car. I want to pull the roof rails off because I've never put them to use, and I'll get new injectors if they help with idle, fuel economy, and throttle response.

Still, I don't see how folks are pushing their XJ's around at 15-16.

That does not look like a Bosch part#. The Bosch part has a body about the size of a writing pen, a blue color clip between the connector and the clip groove, and 8021 on the metal sleeve above the manifold o-ring.

They do however look just like these in an e-bay ad that I found by searching for "53032701aa injector" http://www.ebay.com/itm/Mopar-530327...022839&vxp=mtr

Aparently, this is the Mopar part number.

yeah but 8021 could just be a batch number. i got the actual chrysler part number, 02 liberty shows a 53031099 but newer shows the above parts nummber. they are in and running. going to fill thge tank now.

i might hook my wideband up to this at some point as well.

I put them in. my 97. My 98 is stock and getting 19 mpg so I'm not going to screw with that.

So here's what I did. I found today by coincidence that the knock sensor from a newer 2.7 has a ev1 fuel injector connector. I had one laying around the shop and a injector harness from a RS mini van. I made my own adapter harness for the number 3 injector. I used the $25 adapters mentioned earlier here for the rest of the injectors.

Everything was a straight forward and easy.

Here's the pics:

The adapter harness. Soldered and some marine grade heat shrink.

Trying to get a picture of the part number for the knock sensor. I didn't get a price yet but unless I can find a ev1 injector pigtail it might be the only way to get the clearance needed.

Everything installed.

After I was done installing the injectors I reset all the adaptives etc in the pcm and went and filled the tank. Ill post up at the next fill up what my mileage is. Throttle response and power is much better than stock and on par with the 703's.

Yeah you don't want to mess around with engine fires. Here's some pictures of yesterdays fire at my shop. Happened when a customer over filled her power steering fluid.

This is kinda weird - I'm still running stock injectors on my '96 HO with 187,000 miles on it and am getting 18+ mpg. It is a 2-dr. manual which means I've got a 3.07 rear end...

Did put in new plugs, wires, dist. cap and rotor, and am running synthetic engine oil with a new change of fresh dino lube in both differentials and transmission. Also running on new Geolander AT-S's which are not a mileage tire.

Could you get that much better mpg with stock injectors if all the other 'friction factors' are up to snuff? Anybody else getting that mileage with their stocker?
