alright I'll automatically trust you with that (not expecting it to fully solve my problem but I do trust that it is bad)

Here's some additional justification then: How can a normal wear item still be good after 18 years? (assuming build date in '95)

nah I trust it's bad for sure lol I didn't mean to sound negative towards you.. my stepdad is just talking bad about the jeep (naturally he is a chevy guy so is mad I got rid of my POS 2000 s10 blazer)

so okay mech fan is for sure bad I'm buying it asap this friday. I'm going to try and borrow the money to get one tomorrow if possible.

Now back to the auxilary fan the ONLY relay I can find is

http://www.autozone.com/autozone/par.../N-j59taZ9pe6x

which is the one located on the fender correct?

now the one inside the box (shown on previous page where that wiring is connected) has a place for one and even on the lid says aux fan .. yet I can find no relay for it. I did just use an identical a/c relay since as you can see in the pic on previous page shows the same relay like 4 times.

If the relay pictured is the right one it certainly won't fit. The stock setup has everything in the PDC like you noted. '96s are notorious for wrong documentation on parts. Just order another A/C relay, it's the same thing in there.

Are you looking for a relay like the others in you box.

yep sums it up (yet I've not paid attention to the noise)

anyways on the aux fan I'm basically saying I have a spot for a relay that doesn't apparently exist on my truck and parts store calls for a relay I'm not even sure If I have (I will look asap ) is my truck a cross-year where they changed a bunch of crap??? lol..

I purchased a relay identical to the one shown in the pic of my fuse box beside the wiring. it fits perfectly so I just bought one of those.

it was for an a/c compressor

yeah autozone shows me the Other random relay.

so does oreilys ... and I can't even find a fan relay that resembles something that would fit (I'll search for a 95 or 97 model)

That PDC looks like the one on my '99. I bet you have a late build '96 that started using some 97+ parts. If Radi's around here somewhere he can probably chime in on 1996's weirdness

where the red wiring is plugged into. the wiring led to a toggle switch that was broke and the wiring was ripped off it. on the lid it actually say "aux fan" or something like that.

http://www.autozone.com/autozone/cat...616&isApp=true

this style of relay actually fits in the spot but is for the a/c

http://www.autozone.com/autozone/par...ier=12861_0_0_

this what relay fits the fan on a 97 model which obviously isn't even similar.

yes actually it is now that I have figured out how to read that.

I don't have abs so that's why I have missing ones. the wiring in my pic is where that relay goes and you can see by the autozone pics is what they tried to sell me which I have no place for.

looking at that diagram is the a/c and fan relay actually different types of relays (I see the random numbers where the spades should be)

I have an "a/c compressor clutch relay" in the same spot as where my fan relay should be. you can see by the pic of mine that they are all the same relay which when searching part number all say fan compressor...

so I have a compressor relay for my fuel pump and starter?? lol
