On back side by speedo cable there might be a switch .....

Put up a pic speedo on 89s cable driven , and a vacuum switch for cad axle ....Electric ?

That's from the old 242 that as in ther it just activates the light 231s had the axle disconnect the vacuum switch pulls the cad axle in and locks it in. You got a shaft from different case than a 231.

My yoke fits on my tc but doesn't bolt to the driveshaft, the donor yoke fits the driveshaft but doesn't fit my tc

That's what I don't know. I bought my jeep without a front driveshaft, so I honestly don't know. I was told that they were all the same

Shafts are yokes are different and the cardian joint on them.

Take shaft and yoke back return it .Bring yoke that fits your case also find a automatic xj with 231 and 4.0 pull that shaft make sure it fits your yoke then buy that one.
