1990 jeep cherokee front driveshaft
Okay guys all I want is a straight up answer. I have a 1990 jeep cherokee 4.0 with an aw4 with np231 and went to a junkyard and I found a renix jeep and I took the front driveshaft out. Bought it. And took it home an it doesn't fit. The front output yoke bolt holes do not match up with the driveshaft bolt holes but they seat together perfectly on the u- joint. Well then I thought maybe I can just go to the junkyard and take the front output yoke out of that jeep so I did, and the diameter of the shaft hole is bigger then mine. So what do I do? I need my 4x4 to work, one more thing: I was told by a lot of people that my transfer case had to be vacuum disconnect. But it's not, so what do i do? The measured yoke is mine out of my jeep, and the other is the driveshaft, the pic of the two yokes: mine is on the right and it also doesn't have the lip, on that is where the "vacuum disconnect" is suppose to be, what do I do?

Vacuum disconnects round thing on passenger side of front axle. What gears does your 4x4 shifter show on console shifter ?

Ok pretty sure 242 yoke wont swap with 231s . Is you xj auto or 5 spped you can get a grand Cherokee front shaft that should swap right in . Year, motor and tranny are required to no its length.
