Default 1990 - What is Proper Brake Pedal Operation?

I have a 1990 Jeep Cherokee Laredo 4.0L. No ABS. What is proper brake pedal operation for the vehicle? How far should the pedal drop when the car is started? How close to the floor should the brake pedal go during normal braking? How much brake pedal play or travel should there be when applying the brakes?.

Default brake pressure\air issues

I've just re-done my front end system with new parts, including a M.C. Having problems getting proper brake action since. B.B. the M.C. and re-bled the ports ( one at a time ) after re-hooking up the brake lines to ensure no air in M.C.
Bled system,( longest to shortest ) two person operation, pump 5, crack valve, pedal to floor, tighten valve to keep air from entering thru threads, repeat, etc....

Have gone thru many bottles, still have no pressure. Builds up, then gone.
No leaks ( that I've found haha ). so I'm feeling like this . My buddy says xj's are tough to bleed but come on this is ridiculous, what am I missing. Grrr. haha. sortof.

I had trouble with my 92 and tried 3 rebuilt master cyl. When I did the master cyl years ago it bleed easy. This time it does not work and I ran at least a quart of fluid through at a time and had bench bleed master. I would get pedal until I started up the jeep and then only have good pedal if I push down fast on brake pedal. If I went like you do when you stop then pedal went to the floor.

Still did not work so upgraded to a used master cyl and dual diaphragm booster. It works great and bleed easy.
