1992 Cherokee how to clear maintenance needed light

1992 Jeep Cherokee Laredo
looking for any information on how to clear the" maintenance needed indicator light" on the dash.

cliff notes : 84-90 had them with a seperate timer. 91-95 had them and the PCM had the timer in it (can only be reset with a scan tool). They come on at 82,500 miles then at around 120,000 miles. Other than removing the bulb or painting over it, you options are to buy an overpriced scanner or take it to the stealership.

possible fix for your 92:

found the Emissions Maintenance Timer in my Jeep Wrangler 1991, Its a clear brownish box under the dashboard with small plastics gears on the inside "like a clock" its factory set it for 2750 hrs. you just need to look at that box in the back and remove the sticker to gain access to a small opening where is the activated switch, and with a small screwdriver move that switch from the top of that small gear to the border of the gear where its a guide for the switch. disconect the + terminal from the battery and touch the negative terminal with it the reconect the + terminal and thats it
