1992 HO Engine Wiring Harness Removal
I'm pulling a 1992 HO engine to build up as a stroker for my CJ and I can't find an answer to this question.
I already have the bulkhead connector and the PCU trunk (?) (big red Molex connector) through the firewall removed but I'm stuck on the right side pass through that disappears into the passenger compartment. There's a lot of heater/AC equipment inside that I don't want to remove if I don't have to.
My question is, what does that dinosaur choking wad of wires go to? Can I just cut it off? I'm planning on stripping the harness of the wires and connectors that I need and just scrap the rest.
I'm waiting on a manual that I hoped would answer my question but after a week and a half it still hasn't arrived. and I just want to get it out and get on to the next project.
Thanks in advance.

Manuals finally came in but my weekend was filled up with de-winterizing the house and yard. I have been reviewing section 8 of the manual but nothing in the diagrams points to this part of the harness going through the firewall. Either that or it’s pretty subtle/vague and I just don’t know what I’m looking at.
Regardless, I think my next best option is to open up the harness cover and start looking at wire colors. If that shows that I need these wires and whatever is on the end of them at least I have the manual to show me how to remove the dash assembly. That looks like a huge PITA.
