Default 1992 jeep cherokee no crank, no power

I reconnect the battery cable, go to crank the jeep it clicks 1 time then no power (before trying to crank it had everything working like fuel pump, gauges, etc.) its a 1992 jeep Cherokee, 4.0, 4wd, aw4, Laredo. I checked for a short with a multimeter (by putting it on 10 amp mode and having the leads on the neg battery terminal and the neg battery cable with the pos on the battery) it showed 0.14 but a few sec later it would go to 0.00. Any ideas?

A symptom of a bad battery is it shows voltage until you put it under load, then it has nothing to give.

Try jumping it from a car with a good battery. If that works take the battery to a parts store and have them test it.

So that was one of the problems thanks again and the battery tested good but now its a crank no start. I tested my cps and its fine like im still getting spark, I have good fuel pressure. Can it be my cam shaft sensor and if so how would i go about testing it??

If you have spark, the crank and cam sensors are working. Did you test the fuel pressure?

yes I did but now I tested it I have 30psi when it primes then it leaks down slowly it has a new fuel pressure regulator and fuel pump. It has 39psi when cranking. would a bad injector keep it from starting??

Can you provide some history?

Was it running/starting fine until recently? Did you do any recent work?

If you're certain is has spark, try spraying some starter fluid down the throttle body. If it fires, you have a fuel problem. If not, recheck for spark.

for sure it was running fine until my gf got home one day and it died in the drive way with code 41 alternator field switch shorted or grounded so I thought it was the alternator but I had it tested and it was fine it was just over charging they said so after that I looked at the wires and didn't find anything out of the norm. It didn't have fuel pressure so I replaced the fuel pressure regulator and it fixed that problem but now I have a leaky injector, its getting spark and has fuel pressure now and I have tried starter fluid but it doesn't change anything. I also checked timing and its good to.

Unplug the connector for the clockspring in the steering column or pull the fuse for the horn. See if that fixes it. Higher than normal voltage can be caused by a short in the clockspring between the cruise control wire and the +12-volts for the horn.

Only thing I can think of is a loose connection
