Default 1995 cherokee shifter linkage missing!

Hi - I am about to buy a 1995 jeep (auto transmission) which has had the linkage removed so in effect it's only 2wd.

Any idea how much it would cost in a garage to put the linkage back ? - and would this normally make the 4wd useable or could there have been other problems other than the linkage which caused the owners to take it out..... hope this makes sense but I know little about cars, just know I need one here (France) as we had 2 ft of snow this winter and couldn't get out for days....

Hi welcome to the forum from fantic. Where are you in France? I am in Bordeaux.
The linkage is very easy to mount back on, before you buy the Jeep i would manually shift the Transfer case to 4wd from under the vehicle, to check if everything works. You will need some pliers to operate the shift if the small arm is missing too.

Default Has anyone a picture? Please

I'm going to see the car tomorrow and if anyone has a picture of what I should be moving with the pliers I would be most grateful.

I'm in Cotes d'armor , Brittany, Callac... It must be drier where you are? - it's bucketing down here - and I'm not looking forward to crawling under that jeep in the mud! - so a picture would help me get it over with quickly.

On the drivers side near to the front output there is a little flat shaft coming out from the TC wall. If the jeep is in 2wd it will only turn in one direction.
