1995 XJ Trans Cooling Lines ???
So my son has a small leak .....
I have more or less isolate it to one of the two lines that run alongside the oil pan.
It is the one closest to the oil pan from what I can tell.
The method I used to isolate the leak is crude but I will describe it and maybe I am missing something.
I placed two popsicle sticks between the lines and oil pan at both ends.
Then I placed popsicle sticks between the two lines.
This isolated the lines from the oil pan and each other.
I was under the vehicle as my son started up and saw fluid on the inner line between the popsicle sticks.
No fluid leaked down on any of the popsicle sticks so that more or less told me were the leak is. ( I hope )
The question at this point is two fold ........
1) How difficult would this be to repair " DIY "?
2) Who/Where is a good source for the lines?
I did think about a poor mans repair ..... cutting the line where the leak is, using appropriate 'rubber' tubing over the now cut line and hose clamps.
But that is just kicking the can down the road with the possibility of an even more catastrophic failure while driving.
THANKS -----
