Hey all. I was replacing the transmission mount on my 95 XJ yesterday and I screwed something up. I didn't realized until I had dropped the crossmember and removed the old mount that these mounts are offset. In a slight panic I installed the new mount a couple with the offset toward the drivers side, and also towards the passenger side, trying to think which way possibly makes sense. All said and done I got it installed, and the crossmember back on, but when I took it out yesterday now you hear a couple of clunking sounds when she shifts from 3rd to 4th, and a definite slip or pause in between those 2 gears. The crossmember was very tight to get back on, actually had to jack the transmission pan (I think my jack was in the wrong place) up a little in order to grab threads on 2 of the bolts. Just wondering if any one knows the proper offset for these jeeps?? So I could compare with mine when I get home. Any suggestions would be extremly helpful!! Thank You very much in advance!

What brand transmission mount did you use?

If you were able to put it back together, the alignment of the parts should be correct - otherwise you couldn't get the studs on the mount through the holes in the crossmember.
