Default 1996 Ignition Coil Part Number, Where to Find One?

I fried the ignition coil in my 1996 XJ 4.0 (shorted the block to positive ) and need a new one. Thank the stars for OBDII, my scanner told me it was the coil and I threw on my cheap generic spare and it fired right up. I was hoping to get a Mopar coil for reliability and put the spare back in my toolbox, but all the online catalog's I'm seeing only show the 1997+ coil with the updated plug. Does anyone know the part number for the 1996 and earlier coil, or does Mopar not make it anymore? Are Standard Motor Products Blue Streak and NGK good alternatives if I can't find genuine Mopar? Is it worth it to scavenge a plug and coil from a 1997 at a junk yard so I can order the newer style 56028172AC and use that instead?

Aaaaand it looks like 5234210 is discontinued. All of the aftermarket ones are made in China. Would it be worth it to replace the plug on the harness with a 97-99 plug so I can run the newer coil from Mopar that isn’t discontinued? Is this a common conversion? I’m pretty sure the only difference is the plug itself, and mine actually has a broken clip.
