Default 1996 XJ Heater Core is this right?

Is this the right bend on this bracket?

1996 XJ heater core Radiator Express

Looks like Thermal Solutions ManufacMancturers is passing the packaging savings on to me.

This is part # 398311 from https://www.thermalsolutionsmfg.com/...oduct-catalog/ ordered from https://www.radiatorexpress.com/

Radiator Express hopes I can straighten the bracket.

The pics on rockauto show some that have no bracket. This one does:

I think you can just bend it back.

Looks like it goes out 90 degrees. Seems like a job for the new bench vise.
I plan on pressure testing this thing tomorrow. No idea how much the inlet/outlet tubes got banged up on the trip.
Wasn't planning on digging into this replacement for a few weeks, and still shopping for an Evaporator Core.

For $165 plus a $25 shipping/handling charge, one would think they could find a bigger box and put some thought into this.

Did you get new foam to line your heater box's damper doors? Don't skip that critical step, unless it's been done before ...or somehow the foam look pristine ...which is hard to believe. The foam that went around my actual heater core was in pretty good condition. I think I needed to add a little foam here and there. But the damper doors, esp the outside air door, should be carefully inspected.

Not anywhere near that step yet.

Looking for foam now and not seeing any solutions.

What sizes should I source to cut myself?
