1997 zj overhead console ?
Ive been wanting to brighten up the look of my 2000 xj interior so I had an idea, I always have thought that the zj overhead consoles are sweet so I went to the boneyard and picked one up out of a 1997 zj. Now my question is, how in the heck do I wire it in? All I want it for is the temp and compass nothing else. Please help?

There should be a wire harness up under the headliner already. But the plug ends might not be the same. Might have to splice it. Also might need a temp sending unit.

heres my zj one in my 97
the wiring can be easily redone to make the outside temp and compass work but the MPG stuff is a no go...you can prob fit an xj computer in a zj one they look identical .
just to let you know i got ride of mine for the xj one because i wanted all the functions but if you dont care about mpg just make the temp/compass work
send me a pm if you need a hand with wiring

I know the thread is old. I used the search button
I have a 97. The wire harness is already in the roof top waiting for OHC to plug in? Or so I need the harness?
XJ or ZJ console same?

You need the harness for the display to work(OHC down the pass side A-pillor to the junction block in the pass kick panel)
its also wired into the visors, I cut and spliced it into my visors rathern then tracking them down. The junction bloxk/body side is pre wired.
Don't forget teh roof bracket... not made anymore
