or, given the size on my placard:

.75 * 215 mm = 161.25 mm

when you add in the wheel radius, this gets you a variation of 2-3% in overall radius... so the odometer and speedometer can be off by as much as 2-3% as well, depending on tire size.

At any rate, it is good to know that any of these sizes should be "fine"... and I've discovered that at the same tire dealer, the same brand/model of tire can vary as much as 25% in price! The cheapest for me is the same as on my placard, so now it is a no-brainer.

235 Grabber crew checking in.
My door reads 215, not sure what came from the factory (99 xj classic), but what I do know is that whatever your Vin badge says is the only size Walmart will put on your vehicle. Got a decent deal on Grabbers at walmart so I had them shipped to a walmart that had a tire center so that I could get everything done in one spot. Well they would not mount my tires and even if they had they do not do alignments.

I have 3 98's, one an SE and the other 2 sports. A 99 sport and an 01 sport. All of the door stickers say 215. Not sure if speedo's were calibrated at the factory depending on which tire size they left with. The 01 has 225/75 and speedo is accurate. One 98 has 235/75 and I'm not sure of. The others all have larger tires and are not accurate.

My bone stock 01 Sport placard says 215R7515. I bought it with 235R7515,s. No rubbing and speedo is dead on. Was wondering if I could go to 245R7516 without rubbing or lifting?
