Default 1998 XJ seats

Hi everyone, i am new to the forum and would like some expert advise. my seats are trashed in my 98 cherokee, i would like to know if i can swap some nicer seats from a grand cherokee of a similar year, i realize i may need to swap the seat risers, has anyone done anything like this, i am installing new carpet so the seats will be out anyway, thanks.
jeep details, 4x4, auto, 4 door.

according to Four Wheeler Magazine they are. this is a quote from an article on their site

Seat Failure
Weak link: Front seats
Models affected: All
What happens: XJ front seats use a stamped metal framework that is spot-welded together. Occasionally these spot welds will break. The result is that the seat will often lean rearward and crooked.
Strong fix: One option is to hit the salvage yard and procure a pair of seats from a comparable XJ. Dan McKeag at Burnsville Off Road says that a better option is to install a pair of seats from a '99-'04 Grand Cherokee. These seats are way more comfortable because they are contoured and of better quality overall. They will bolt directly to the XJ seat tracks.

Good to know. How bout buckets in a '88 Comanche? Will those seats work for the little pickups too?
