1998 XJ Sport 4.0 AC Component Part Number Question
I'm looking to replace all AC components on my mint 1998 XJ LHD 4WD 4.0L I-6 and have the following part number compatibility questions:
'98 parts manual gives the following PNs for my '98: ("J"=LHD (4WD), "ER0"=4.0L Power Tech I-6):
I'm working from the Rock Auto web page at: https://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/...r+conditioning
ACCUMULATOR = 55036 630AB
I'm finding parts available from Rock Auto as: UAC RD4291C which is shown to replace {55036630, 55036630AE, 55036649AF}
Was "630AB" superseded by AE and AF...?
Any issues here?
COMPRESSOR = 55037 205AD
I'm finding parts available from Rock Auto as: UAC CO4691C which is shown to replace {55037205AG, 55037205AH, 55037205AI, 55037205AJ, 55037205AK}
Was "205AD" superseded by AD, AG, AH, AI...?
Any issues?
CONDENSER = 55036 595AB
I'm finding parts available from Rock Auto as: UAC CN4895PFXC which is shown to replace {55036595AD, 55036595AG}
Was "595AB" superseded by AD, AG...?
Any issues?
EVAPORATOR COIL = 4864 999
I'm finding parts available from Rock Auto as: UAC EV4864999PFXC which is shown to replace {4864999, 4864999A, 4864999AB, 4864999AC, 4864999AE, 4864999C}
This is why I believe most all of these questions are just superseded part numbers.... Correct?
SUCTION & DISCHARGE LINE = 55036 632AC
I'm finding parts available from Rock Auto as: UAC HA10584C {5183837AA, 55037492AB, 55037570AA, 55037570AB}
Are the different numbers because I need to add the valves/etc as this UAC replacement does not include them?
It's the correct suction/discharge line, right?
Is there a better website for correlating part numbers? I've tried a few Mopar/Chrysler sits and never get anywhere with them...
Is UAC a good manufacturer to go with?
Thank You for the help...

Any parts guys out there?
I really just need help on better understanding Chrysler/Jeep part numbering succession....
Is there a good website anywhere that will list part number compatibilities?
I wouldn't think so, but in general: if the base numbers are the same with differing letter suffix, is that and indication of succession?
Thanks Again

Generally speaking, yes the letters at the end increment for superseding part numbers. As long as the numeric part is the same, it should fit.
The "SUCTION & DISCHARGE LINE = 55036 632AC" above is the Liquid line (condenser to evap. This has the orifice built in). The parts numbers below are the Manifold lines (suction/discharge) that connects to the compressor. Am I not reading this right?
I don't know of a better site to cross reference part numbers. Often, I will simply search on the part number using "jeep 55036632AC" (for example) and then look through the hits. Note I remove the space in the part number.
Two other AC parts suppliers are AZKITS.COM and JEEPAIR.COM. They do not show OEM part numbers but often have parts RA may not carry (or be out of stock).

Thank you for taking the time to look this over and respond...
You read it right. It is my mistake.
When writing this I know I intended to copy/past the {Suction & Discharge Line: 55036 635AC} and I must have pasted the {Liquid Line w/ Orifice: 55036 632AC}
I pretty much do the same, search on phrases with part numbers, and try to pick out what is correct.
What I ended up doing was going to the UAC website and verifying their more comprehensive x-ref/buyers guide as applicable for my vehicle.
Thanks you again for your time and effort on looking this over...
Very cool of you to take the time...
