1999 jeep Cherokee power steering pump bolt
ok so i am trying to replace my power steering pump and the bolt that holds the pulley to the pump striped out and is seized into the pump. anyone know what size the bolt is, thread pitch, or where to get one? i have a new pully a new pump but no bolt to put them together.

I think it's 3/8-16? A tip on technique if you're not using a puller/installer. Get a long bolt grade-8 bolt, some thick washers and a nut. Thread the bolt in fully and turn the nut to push the pulley on, mimicking what the installation tool does. That minimizes the risk of ripping the threads out of the pump. Plus, you can put a socket on the bolt head and a wrench on the nut instead of trying to hold the pulley. Also, make sure you can get the mounting bolts in before you press the pulley on. Sometimes there pulley will have holes to get the bolts in, and sometimes you really need to mount the pump first since you can't get the bolts in once the pulley is in the way.
Same trick if you ever do the harmonic balancer, btw. The stock bolt only grabs a couple threads at first, and you really don't want to rip those thread out of the end of the crank.
