1999 Jeep Cherokee Sport-key switch problem HELP!
I noticed a few weeks ago that the electric fan was not shutting off after the key was shut off. I have to move the key to the "on" position and shut it off again and then the fan shuts off. I've had a key switch issue for a few years where the key actually falls out while I'm driving. Ok... I know it was just laziness, but my question is..Is it time to replace the key switch or am I looking at another issue? Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

Why was the electric fan running just before turning the key to 'off'?

In South Florida at this time the heat index is over 100 degrees. With bumper to bumper traffic and A/C on all the time the Jeep runs at 210 degrees. The electric fan is always running as far as I can tell. It just does not disengage when the power is shut off. I have to move the key to the "acc" mode and then off to disengage. Is it time for a new key assembly? Any thoughts?
