honestly i had a rough country lift and it did the job for about 6-8 months. now im on RE. i too got the add a leaf and it sucked after 2-3 months of driving with a little bit of wheelin in between my rear sagged. imo and experience spend the extra cash and go with RE.

The RE looks nice, but it is over twice the price

I just ordered a 3.5" RE superride lift with leaf packs for $105 more than you would pay for this add a leaf fit. I ordered it from a Guy called EndlessMtnFab on this site. That is a far superior kit to the rough country add a leaf...
Here's the tires I'll be running on it. They are just shy of 31's.
Mike
I also ordered 4 RE monotube shocks and an adjustable trac bar though you could redrill the hole for your trac bar and not order that.

This is what the kit includes and upon second glance, I am realizing my error. The more inexpensive package includes add-a-leaf, which if I recall correctly, has a tendency to sag after a while. Now my consideration is lightening up a bit. If I am reading it right, new leaf springs is an extra $264, which might not be too bad. Whadya think? The Jeep in the pic is the same as mine, without the red stripe.

No way... Go with the RE... They are known to give more lift than advertised so what's not to like?

RE was my original choice, but shyed away becuase of price (I think). Everyone here in Reno runs RE with absolutely no complaints. I think I was just trying to be cheap and cut corners. Of course, I would much rather prefer to have a lift that lasted and held its value so-to-speak.

Have EndlessMtnFab quote you an RE. I looked far and wide and his price was the best. He is on this site. He is very knowledgeable and can give you the run down on all the lifts. I think he has carried them all at one time. My 3.5" RE w/leafs is cheaper from him than the rough country. He posts quite a bit, find his name and send him a personal message.

I think I might have a valid point here that will help hylander, myself, and any other member viewing this thread:

Rubicon Express with new rear springs is $585
Rough Country with add a leaf is $345
Rough country with no lower control arms is $255
Rough Country with new springs is $609; $24 more than RE

The downside of the RE lift is no new shocks, but RE's shocks are apparently better than most. Here are the components for the 3.5 inch RE lift:

Home > SuspensionSystems > Product

RE6025 - XJ 3.5" SUPER-RIDE W/REAR SPR

The 3.5-inch Super-Ride suspension system is an ideal system for the discerning Cherokee owner who desires a more aggressive look, higher ride stance and better trail performance, but still wants to retain factory like on-road handling and ride quality.

The RE6025 features bushings on both ends of the control arms which help to retain the factory ride while reducing road noise. This system replaces your XJ's rear factory leaf springs with Rubicon Express Extreme-Duty 3.5" leaf springs. The replacement RE Super-Ride™ lower control arms eliminates the weak factory arms, without inducing any additional road noise or vibration by retaining the stock bushings in the control arms.

This system is capable of fitting 31x10.50-inch tires.

Oneflew:
Thanks for the break down
Question; Are new lower control arms needed with only a 3" lift ?
