2 door xj driver window motor
Does anyone know if I can wire a window motor from a 4 door Cherokee to the regulator on the window for my 2 door? I can’t find a regulator anywhere and I’m almost positive it’s just the motor that is bad. I’ll be testing voltage tonight after work to confirm.

I'd be equally worried about the size of the motor - the windows on the 4 door (especially 96 and earlier) are substantially smaller.. you might consider a larger window motor from a comparable year truck or minivan if it is similar.

Just checked the volts on the plug for the motor and I’m getting 12v, so I’ve ruled out a wire issue. I have a 4 door Cherokee motor coming in on Saturday. I’ll post when I get time to do the swap and let you guys know how it goes

I replaced the motor and success! I used the Cardone remanufactured motor, part number 42-613. It is the same motor that is in the 4 door Cherokee’s. The motor that was in the Jeep already said remanufactured on it as well. Just glad to have it working, these 90 degree days have been brutal
For reference, old motor on the left, replacement on the right. You just simply unbolt the old one, the gear slides right off, slide the gear on the new motor and bolt the new motor back on to the regulator. Splice the harness on to the new motor and you’re good to go.
