Default 2000 Cherokee Orvis - Electrical Short

Hello
I'm new to the Jeep forum. We have a 2000 Jeep Orvis. Last week we came out to start the car and it was as dead as a dodo. We jumped the car and it was OK. Left overnight and it was dead again in the morning. We booked the car into a local garage. They had the car for 5 nights (inside) and the car was fine. They checked the battery and it was OK having been replaced approx 1 year ago. We picked up the car and left it overnight outside and this morning it was dead again.
The only thing we can think of it that it is an elctrical short of some kind. Does anyone have any ideas where to look first or how to look? Is there some way of locating where the drain on the battery is. I've tried testing the elctrical items on the car. The only thing that does not work is one of the rear electric windows?
Thanks alot
Terry

It is possible your non-working rear window is the culprit but have you replaced the battery?? I had a reputable battery place tell me mine was great, no issues and my battery was absolutly shot!! I would replace it just to rule it out. Look at your battery gauge, when it's running, what is the gauge reading?? It should be around 14. If the E-fan kicks on it might drop slightly and I mean slightly. Let us know what you find!! Good Luck!!

Hello
Thanks for that, when the car is running , battery gauge is on 14, drops a little when you put the blower on full.
I'll check inside the door panel , then it looks like a new battery
Thanks

Well , all is well again and it turned out to be a broken micro switch / relay on the air conditioning pump. Having said that I found 2 broken and 3 stripped wires to the drivers side door and now the speaker works again!
Thanks
Terry
