2000 Cherokee Sport Rear Harness Diagram
All,
Making my way through a 2000 Cherokee Sport that has spent some time in deep water trail riding. As you can imagine the rear harness and connectors are a bit in need of repair. Corroded pins have led to wires falling out of the connector(s). I re-did the passenger side with some harness/connectors from a good junkyard Cherokee. Now on to the driver side....;}. Several wires fell off after disassembly and cleaning.
Can someone please point me to a good rear harness wiring diagram. I have found some pieces here and there but not a clear complete one. I have a couple of danglers that I need to be certain what they are powering. All of the rear lights are functioning correctly, not sure if these may be the defroster or wiper leads. The wiper has not worked, and have not tried the defroster yet.
Thanks,
Marion Hutzel

agreen,
I'm currently stumped on a wire which came loose from the connector and I cannot figure it's location out, I'm attaching 2 photos , one of the wire and a geenral shot. The center connector is the one which looks like the one, but there is no spot for it. I scoured the FSM but could not locate it at all. All the lights are working and the defroster too I beleive, the light come on on the switch. The rear wiper does not however. Any ideas? I can bypass the connector if I was sure of the right recipient.
Thanks,
Marion

Still digging. I found some connector locations and pinout diagrams. Hope it helps:
Edit: it's connector 323 (C323). It has a red/org wire. Looks like your jeep came with the trailer tow package. That confirms that it belongs in the middle connector like you suspected.

agreen,
Thanks for the help. I was looking at the corroded green area on the female connector. I dug in it with a pick and could not see where it goes. The location does not go through. The red/orange wire is a fused power wire. It's the only logical spot though. I'll look at it again this morning. There is an exterior trailer connector with a male outlet that is installed between the 2 stock connectors, that you can't make out totally. I take a pic and post it. It has a 14 gage black wire that is hot I believe per the FSM. You can see it in the attached photo. I can most likely route the red/org wire over there once voltage is confirmed. What do you think?
Thansk,
Marion

That connector should have a pin where all that green corrosion is. You should see it when it's unplugged. It's supposed to crimp onto the red/org wire and it clicks into the connector.
I don't think it's any kind of culprit for your rear wipers or defroster (potentially) not working though. If you want to eliminate that crusty connector, you can get these from Amazon:
