I've owned this truck since new it's never did this till the spring of 2016. Why would it not have any heat soak problems for the first 15 years? I don't buy it. Last week it was 15 degrees out when I got home park in my driveway shut it off and opened hood. 15 min later came out and it ran rough.

Man, that sucks. Got a heat soak issue myself. I'm convinced it is a generic problem. All respect to the TSB prescription. But it wasn't doing this before, so it makes you wonder if something in that engine compartment didn't just get old, right?.

Heat surge is normal when the vehicle gets shut off. But the system handled it before. Something changed

Some of the bandaid fixes are inecpensive, thankfully. Otherwise a recall would have been costly.

I tend to want to fix everything with shiny new OEM parts if the system, as engineered, had a history of working correctly before it failed. Alter anything, and well there's consequences. Cooling systems, for example.

Compensating with wraps, metalic fiberglass shields, fans, all work though. Something a bit more durable, that restores the system as engineered, would be nice.
