Default 2000 xj alternator question

My alternator in my 2000 Cherokee is making horrible noises which I'm guessing is the bearings going out. My question Is I got a alternator off my old 94 xj laying around, will it bolt up and work?

You'll lose a fair amount of current capacity (your 2000 should have a 117A, your 1994 could be 70A or 90A rated,) but it will keep you going until you get something better.
