2000 XJ Heater Core Replacement
Hey Guys,
So I finally bought my dream vehicle!! I've already started with the restoration/repairs and now it's time for the heater core.
I already know it's going to be a big job. My question is should I replace the AC condenser coil and fan motor while I'm in there?
If so, what are the best blower motors that I can buy today?
1- there's nothing wrong with the blower motor (it might be a little tired, but it works), I just don't want to have to go back in there again.
2- not sure about the AC coil, currently AC doesn't work and I have no plans in the immediate future to fix it, but might in the long run.
Thanks in advance for all advice!

You mean the evaporator coil. If the system is flat you need to leak check to determine if coil is bad.If it is then replace

1- how do I leak test the evap core?
2- what are the best brands to look for?
3- has anyone ever had a fan motor go out, or are the OEM ones pretty robust?
4- Thank you guys for the posts!

3- The fan motor is replaced through the engine bay. I had one full of dirt and replaced it with a known working junkyard special.

AWESOME. Thank you for that info. I'll look into that tonight when I get home.
As far as heater coil & evap core (coil?), copper? Aluminum? Brand names to look for?
Thanks guys!
***Just watched video... what a wrestling match! I was rooting for you the whole time! Not too bad at all. Thanks again.***
