Did you put fresh gas in and put a good couple of gallons in? If you had dropped the tank, you would have drained it first and if you just put the same gas back in, you may have stirred up the rust, water etc and plugged your fuel filter. Get some new gas to put in. Test port could be fouled too if you hear the pump running. CPS was probably the problem that you fixed. You may have a fuel issue too. Mine went down a similar path. New CPS to fix chronic no-starts, fixed grounds (intermittent failures), intermittent loss of power (fuel pump). etc.

 

I swapped out the test kit, and the second one showed pressure with the key on. It started, but sputtered out almost immediately. Pressure fell as it sputtered. I put a few gallons of fresh gas in it. It started and held pressure. Idled just fine. I added a few more gallons to it, drove it around for about 5 miles, put another 10 gallons in it, and 50+ miles later, it seems I ran it out of gas.
I’ve never seen a vehicle that would start again and again after being run empty.
I drained the tank while it was out. I put a few gallons of the old back in it when we put it back together. The gauge showed almost empty then. It came up when I filled it. I had it to about ¾ and ran it back to just below half when the fun started.
It’s getting those new tires tomorrow.
