Default 2000 XJ noise when accelerating in left turn

I recently had some work done on my 2000 Cherokee Sport 4.0 (replaced exhaust from the manifold back, front pads and rotors, rear drums, spark plugs). While I was driving it soon after this work was completed, I noticed a new noise that seems to only happen when I am accelerating in a left turn.

I can turn the wheel and start the turn without any noise, but as soon as I start accelerating, it starts.

I tried to get it on video, and have a couple of links below:

My mechanic checked it out, but he said everything looked tight underneath and couldn't find where it might be coming from. His initial thought was maybe the start of a U-joint going bad, but didn't seem too sure about it.

Possibly of note - as I was driving it after the work was done, it initially felt like something was binding up and then I heard what sounded like it could have been something metal the size of a bolt hit the ground, but I didn't see anything. A few people at the shop (and myself) have looked it over but don't see anything glaring missing underneath, so maybe it was unrelated and it was just something in the road.

Any ideas on what to check out?

Check the clearance between your exhaust pipe and the cross member, right where the exhaust pipe crosses over it and heads into the catalytic converter. Considering you just had exhaust work done, a clearance issue that rears its head when under torque (which twists the motor on the mounts) and also while putting lateral forces on the chassis and suspension would seem to be a likely place to start. Coincidentally, torque on the motor (acceleration) will move the exhaust pipe closer to the cross member, as will turning left.
