It was probably ripped off by the drive shaft at some point prior to your ownership. I think, but I'm not certain until I take a look, that it's bundled in conduit with either the output speed sensor for the transmission or the odometer (vss) sensor in the transfer case. I'd start there and work your way back... PO may have cut the wires back. I'm sure you know this; but, just in case: that sensor has no effect on vehicle performance, it only reports the status of the cat

I dont think that o2 sensor is considered bank 2. I would call it bank 1 sensor 3. Is it throwing a code for a bank 2 o2 sensor? Either way, there should be a wire somewhere up there to connect it to.

My '00 is a CA Emissions one. So I have 4. Two in the exhaust manifolds and 2 after the dual precat.
Bank 1 Sensor 1
Bank 1 Sensor 2
Bank 2 Sensor 1
Bank 2 Sensor 2
Pretty sure that is how they are listed.
So I can tell from your picture that yours is not a CA but Federal emissions one. Makes me wonder why it is saying Bank 2. In your case it should just be an upstream and downstream. The upstream one should be in the intermediate pipe. The one after the Y pipe from the exhaust manifolds. But as 5-Speed said there should be a wire or remnants of one somewhere.
Edit: Unless that is an '00 with a build date of before 1/20/00. No idea of the set up on those.

That is the thing. I am wondering if there is a wire to hook up. You would only have one if that is a Federal Emissions one.

she says shes done a tune up on it: changed the coil pack and plugs already as well as a coolant flush and power steering flush and of course oil change.
still shows p0300 301 and 304, which as you all know already is multiple misfires, cyl 1 mis, and cyl 4 mis.
any input on whether i should continue to persue this jeep for its roughly $700 price tag (i bought a beater for $700 and she wants to trade. See info in this thread: https://www.cherokeeforum.com/f67/im...cckkkk-242700/)
let me know what y'all think.

apparently i misinterpetted the info. there is no check engine light for the 02 sensor on. the check engine lights are for misfires...

for $700? maybe. assuming the green one is in better shape cosmetically i think it might still be worth it? a lot of jeepers are more concerned with rust/rot and the cosmetic appearance, rather than mileage or engine performance, right? And so what i mean by that is i think more the 220k might still be "more desirable" than the 120k poopbox.
