Hey guys, I know this is going to be a redundant question for you all, and I do apologize, but I am buying new tires for my 2001 Jeep Cherokee Sport XJ 4x4 that is still stock. The recommended tire size is 225/75/r15 but I would like to put on some 235/75/15 instead. Has anyone had any problems at all with rubbing or floating after installing 235's on a 4x4? I used to have a 1997 Jeep Cherokee Sport 2wd that I changed from the recommended 225's size and bought some new Goodyear 235's for it which caused it to float all over the road, handle and drive much worse from those kinds of problems. I don't remember any rubbing at all. I had to change back to the 225's to correct the floating on the highway and road. I am wondering if this would possibly be a problem with the 4x4? I live in the rural country and use 4×4 frequently but just with light off-road and riding around my land. No mud riding. Mostly road and highway. Not my everyday driver either. So I am not very interested in lifting it. Maybe new springs or?? I know that many of you have changed tire size to 235's with no problems but wondering if there is anyone that did have problems. I am also still searching and reading the forums, so thank you very much.
