2001 stereo installation question
searched around for a while, couldn't find an answer.
I put a new stereo in the jeep this weekend. New speakers and deck for now, sub will come when the munny allows.
I put the new deck in place as the directions said, but the back side of the stereo doesn't really have any support. It rests in the factory position and bolts to the front where the factory bolts were. When I go over small bumps the back end seems to rattle a bit.
How have you guys supported or held down the back side of the deck?

Make sure that all the tabs you can bend in to hold the cage in place are tight in there against the dash kit, if you've got the cage in tight then it really shouldn't move much if at all.
Another trick you can use is to use "plumbers tape", looks like a piece of erector set, and bolt it to the back of the deck at the grounding screw and then screw it to the firewall or internal dash piece. I'd say not to do that though, then if you ever have to pull the radio for some reason you'll have to pull the top of the dash out lol.
