2001 XJ Injector Connectors Age Cracked
Just recently did the Bosch 4 hole injector upgrade...
The originals were working OK, but I occasionally got a misfire at freeway speeds, but that may have been old gas tho.
Anyway, I did the swap, and the idle is much smoother, for starters.
Only issue I had was that the injector harness plugs are starting to crumble.
Mose of the red lock pins were disintegrating, and no they wont lock down on the injector.
I wonder if its possible to replace the harness... or solder in new plugs... or even just de-pin the connectors and insert into new plugs?
Whats my best option?.

You can get new connectors. They are either EV1 or EV6 style plugs. I cant remember off the top of my head. If you have a pair of wire crimpers, I would just cut the old ones off and go new everything. Its a simple job.

You will need a heat gun. The existing wires are 20 gauge and the new fuel injector wiring connectors are 18 gauge. I also used scotch super 88 tape and zip ties. The green and red striped wires are your 14v power wires. The other wire coming off each injector is a pulse modulated ground wire. It is modulated by the computer. Also you’ll need a pair of crimpers that have a crimp for 18-22 gauge. You’ll find a lot of the wires in the harness behind the fuel rail are melted together slightly. Try to get them all separated.
