Hi all, so i have had my 01 cherokee RHD in Australia for coming on 10 years, i have never had an issue until now.

Not long ago the Jeep struggled to start one morning, the next day it started.

Once i started it it started to run rough as though it is misfiring, i have no missfire codes.

The only code that shows up is P0700 Electronic automatic transaxle (EATX) controller DTC present.

This shows up in both the engine computer and trans. The trans has no issue shifting but the speedo cluster goes bizerk when accelerating sometimes causing the car to cut out and in when driving.

My mechanic thought it might be an injector related issue, so he pulled the injectors and cleaned them, no change. We have also replaced the plugs, the old ones were worn but still looked ok.

Next move we are going to do is check the CAT as it starts to smell after running for a while, but i was just wondering if anyone knows this issue or has had it before?

The jeep currently runs rough through the entire rev range and sounds like its dropped a cylinder.
