The last writing to this thread is almost a year ago. I have a 99 XJ with the 4.0 liter. After driving it around and then shutting it off for a short period of time for 10-15+ minutes it starts but runs like half of the injectors are not working. This continues for about 15-30 seconds or so until (I feel) fresh cooler fuel gets in the system. That company called Design Engineering no longer has a fuel rail/injector cover kit. Darn, anyway on to the problem you guys are having. My son had a 93 Jeep Grand Cherokee that would die at anytime it wanted to. I have a shop manual for it and it stated that the computer is watching the resistance in the coil and if it drops to less than 300 ohms the computer will not fire the injectors. Computer provides the grounds for each injector. Anyway, I replaced the coil and it never died again. I noticed that no one was looking at that so I mentioned it.
If anyone has a lead on the Design Engineering fuel rail and injector cover kit availability I'd like to know about it.

Hi Bart 3500:
More than a year ago I wrote about this problem. I ended up replacing the fuel pump and the problem went away. After following CCKen's direction on how to cut an access hole over the fuel pump, it was easy to change out the pump. Just search the CF for CCKen to find the instructions.
