Sad thing is, around here where I live, people will be buying them up just because it says "Jeep"
As far as looks goes? No thank you.... Its rather unsettling and I immediately thought of the Aztec....... We were wrong to think Chrysler wouldn't drop the ball here.
Although, I hope it's some kind of joke though....

I think you all are missing the point..
Sure..we all love our xjs..solid axles, the bulletproof 4.0, the classic style, and just the flat out reliability and utility it provides.
Thing is technology has changed. Sfa vehicles are becoming the past..ifs is the new thing....why?...cause it is cushy going down to the mall. Why all the electric goodies? The majority of people who will be in the market for a new SUV want these things...they want power everything...some are aware that it will eventually turn into an electrical nightmare but most are oblivious to the fact that what they are investing in is essentially against what "we" (XJ lovers) believe in.
Sure..jeep could come out with a new version of the XJ with an sfa setup, a reliable motor, and minimal electronic gimmicks...but they would only sell to even a fraction of us XJ lovers.
All in all jeep is a company...there goal is to make money. Unfortunately the world has this mindset..pretty much correlates with some of our most prized land being under the radar for closing (Johnson valley, etc). Sorry..but we will never convince jeep to build another masterpiece. I think our area of focus should be signing petitions to keep public wheeling land open..as these places close the wheeling community looses its significance.
I'm not sure where all this came from...I'm not even drunk

That thing is atrocious. NOT a Cherokee. NOT a Jeep. They need to stick to what they know.
I'm really surprised they didn't bring back the boxy style with a modern twist. A lot of Cherokee fans were waiting for them to take on the same challenge as the mustang, camaro, charger etc.
Or even a more realistic version of the concept Jeep Hurricane. That thing was sweet.
2014 Jeep Cherokee = EPIC FAIL.

Liberty's always been called the Cherokee overseas. lol
It's still no excuse. It doesn't even look like a Chrysler product, much less anything to do with the Jeep brand.
