242-231 swap
I did a 231 swap into a jeep that had a 242.
The jeep and 242 is 2000 and the 231 is 1998.
Everything works as expected but I was stumped on the wiring that is for dash lights.
The 231 had a female plug with 2 contacts inside. The wiring harness on the jeep had three.
I tried to read on it but most regard to swapping out the 231 for a 242.
Do I need to get special wiring harness pigtail from a dealership? I would prefer to avoid soldering wiring together if there's actually a pigtail available somewhere.
Thanks!

I had the same issue when swapping a 242J for a 242WJ.
The indent signals are different. Have not been able to remedy it. Will likely have to switch the wires at the individual dash light connections.

I have been reading on people's swaps (231 to 242) and they got a pigtail harness to remedy the wiring. I was hoping somebody would confirm that there is a pigtail for 242 to 231.

I have not looked at the wiring for a 2001 but assuming its like the others:
The 231 connector should be further up the harness, maybe tucked behind the linkage plate on the transmission, or zip-tied to something up there.
The 242 connector should be a subordinate harness, about 1' long. You can disconnect it and then tuck the main harness connector behind the linkage plate on the transmission

Our VFD has a couple of 6x6s
Years ago we bought a 2wd Suburban with no headliner or visors. I got a couple of visors from a junkyard and the driver side had 4wd shift instructions. That old Burban would go almost anywhere because it had 4x4 sun visors

Not familiar with that one ...
We have an M939, and an M49 (fuel version of the M35) to use as water tenders.
We had another M35 but the drain plug stripped and it ran dry and ruined the engine . The 1000 gallon tank is now in the M939 and it is way under-loaded

Beautiful!
Oh, I could have used one of those 30 years ago. Looks like it would make a great combination log loader and yarder
Hang a big block on the crane and use the big rear winch for high lead logging, and then take off the block and use the crane with tongs to load logs out of the pile onto another truck.

Lmao cruiser, it isn't for me. It's for a customer's jeep that I did the swap. He want everything to work like intended from the factory...
As for my jeep, I wouldn't care about any lights to tell me ha. As for levers, my jeep ll have 4... 3 for the doubler and one for the trans.
