Default 242 transfer case

Hey, New here and I hope this has not been asked before (Searched and did not see a thread). Does anyone know how many 2001 jeep limited's were made or where one can find out. Also, more curious about how many xj's had the full time 4wd (242 transfer case with 2hi - 4hi full - 4hi part - n - 4lo)? I have only seen maybe 3 in the last 4 years. Mostly just see sports with just 2hi - 4hi part - n - 4lo

My 97 had one, swapped it out for a 231 though.

Tons of them were made with 242s.

I have looked at the Cherokees in the junk yards when I'm there pulling parts for my '99. Haven't seen any yet but eventually I will find one and swap it for my 231. Not in a big hurry so I'll wait until I can score a good one at a good price. Or just trade someone who wants to get rid of those "junky" 242's that are as weak as a wet noodle and have no place in a proper XJ Cherokee.

I have one I could do an even trade on if you want to come pick it up.

I will give it some thought. I have a list of other priorities on the Jeep right now though.

Where are you located in Ohio and what kind of condition is it in?

In South Point, has over 200K on it but still worked normal when I pulled it out.

Thanks. You are a long way from me. I appreciate the offer but at today's gas prices, I would be money ahead to just buy one locally. Thanks again for the offer.
