Default 3.75 BS on stock suspension

Hey guys, so im thinking about getting some cragar D lock wheels and it says that they are 3.75 inch BS. Im still running stock suspension with no lift or anything and i was wondering if the tires would rub or if it would look weird. Should i go with 4.0 backspacing or get the 3.75?

I run the Cragar Soft Eights with 3 3/4" BS with a 3" lift and 33x12:50x15" tires and they do not rub the stock suspension. With larger tires you will need to do some trimming on the fenders or flares.

What tire size do you plan on running? You probably won't rub on the control arms, but it depends on the tire size you are running, the year of your Jeep, and if your fenders are trimmed or you plan to trim.

edit: Sorry NOAZZ, I read that wrong. Thought you mentioned inches of lift.

3.75" backspacing will be fine, that's what my 15x8s have. I've had about everything from a 235/75 to 33x9.5 on those wheels with stock suspension.

Probably because you no longer have stock suspension...
Well im pretty sure i have 30" tires, the year of my cherokee is 2001, and my current wheel size is 15x7.

Dang, how much trimming did you have to do to fit 33s under stock suspension? hahaha

I think the stock rim was a 6" rim and had a 29" tall tire on it and I could be wrong if so please someone correct me. But I do believe that I read that here somewhere, but again I'm old and have CRS syndrome.

A lot depends on what YOU intend on doing on your end with your XJ. Lift/Tires (now and upgrade later to 33's, 35's, 37's)/amount of trimming you intend on doing if any,

So many things come into play to help you decide on a wheel that will fill your needs for a while.

Didn't trim at all, just bumpstopped. Only drove it like that for a week, my 87 had broken, and my 90 didn't have tires, so I threw the 33's on the 90 until I fixed the 87. And the 87 was running those tires no problem on 1.5" of lift and just a cut and fold on the fenders, with way more suspension travel than any stock XJ.

There may have been a stock 15x6 wheel, but all 4 sets of stock wheels I have are 15x7. 3 sets of aluminum wheels, and a set of steel wheels off a YJ.
Stock tires were definitely under 29" tall. All of my Jeeps left the factory with 195/75's or 205/75's, which would be 26.5 to 27" tall.
