||| 39/11 Differential change ??? |||
Hey guys
I have a 2001 automatic transmission XJ ( U.S. specification )
I imported the car from the USA
And the rear differential runs only on 1 wheel
The Asia spec XJ have a different differential from the U.S. spec
Asia spec differential runs with 2 tyres both with same power
The Asia spec differentials comes with clutches
The U.S. dont ! So it runs only with 1 wheel
What I'm planing now is to change my differential with the Asia spec differential that comes with clutches so that it runs with both wheels
What I have now is I think 39/11 no clutches
So will I have to change the ring and pinion?? cause I upgraded to 31" BF all terrain tyers

If you have an open differential it will send power to both wheels, as long as they both have traction. If one wheel slips or is in the air, it will send all of the power to that wheel. That's normal operation.
It sounds like you are asking about converting to a limited slip?
